ORP is excited to be the official shell recycling partner for the Elena James Oysterfest on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Chevy Chase Lake! This all-you-can-eat oyster celebration is packed with fresh seafood, live music, bottomless drinks, and family-friendly fun — and we’ll be there behind the scenes, making sure every shell makes its way back to the Bay.
At the Oyster Recovery Partnership, we collect and recycle used oyster shells to support large-scale oyster restoration efforts throughout the Chesapeake. Each shell you slurp down at Oysterfest will be cleaned, cured, and returned to the Bay — where it can become habitat for new oysters and help strengthen our local ecosystem.
