What’s better than National Oyster Day? National Oyster WEEK, of course! That’s right; EAT OYSTERS AND LOCAL SEAFOOD ALL WEEK LONG AUG. 5-11!
Oysters clean Chesapeake Bay waters and provide habitat for other (delicious!) species like blue crabs, rockfish, and white perch. Did you know that eating oysters and recycling their shells leads to more oysters returned to the Bay? One reclaimed shell becomes a home for 10X as many babies! ORP, the nonprofit expert in Chesapeake Bay oyster restoration, relies on Shell Recycling Alliance restaurants to provide shell critical for oyster restoration efforts.
