Over the past four years, the Oyster Recovery Partnership has worked with nearly 1,000 students in Howard County to educate youth on the important role oysters play in Maryland’s economy, ecology and the health of our local waters. Through the hands-on oyster gardening program, students learn how oysters grow, reproduce and work as filter feeders, and learn to become environmental stewards of the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
Help us celebrate our oyster education efforts, Saturday, March 4 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Glen J. Arthur Community Center in Glenwood with an evening fundraiser featuring Chesapeake Bay trivia, and of course, oysters!
Tickets are $22 per person and include appetizers, a seat at the trivia game and prizes. Additionally, freshly shucked oysters will be available for $1 each. The event is BYOB but will include soft beverages.
There will be a spin wheel, a raffle and merchandise, so bring some spending cash to participate! All proceeds go toward ORP educational programs.
Must be 21 and older to attend.
