Restoration underway.

Restoration Stats

  • The Manokin River Restoration Blueprint was completed in July 2020
  • The Blueprint establishes a goal of restoring 441 acres of reef in the river
  • An estimated 20 acres of healthy, high-density oyster reefs already exist, leaving 421 to be constructed
  • Additional pre-restoration surveys are underway, which may reveal that some areas do not require restoration, thus reducing the number of acres projected for rebuilding overall
