Olivia Caretti
Olivia oversees ORP’s scientific programs and staff. She coordinates with staff and partners to implement ORP’s oyster restoration, monitoring, and sustainable fisheries goals. Olivia also develops new projects, initiatives, and tools to expand ORP’s scientific capabilities and contributes to creative solutions to address our coastal challenges.
Olivia is an expert in coastal ecology and restoration. She has contributed to research on oyster restoration and monitoring, underwater soundscapes, habitat mapping, invasive marine species, seagrass restoration, climate change impacts, coral reef management, and fish habitat use. Olivia is currently finishing her PhD in Marine Sciences at North Carolina State University. She received her BA in Biology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, where she caught the fieldwork “bug”. She joined ORP in 2021.
