🔍 Explore 14 different oyster purveyors from the Maryland area, each with their unique twist on this culinary delight. From the Chesapeake Bay to the Atlantic shore, these experts bring the taste of Maryland's coast straight to your plate!

@fallenpineoystercompany in Chincoteague Bay, Maryland where they’re known for their Salt Buoy oysters, aka Maryland’s saltiest oyster! Their other varieties include Wild Ass Ponies and Saltwater Cowboy oysters. The founder and operator, Dan Worrell fell in love with oysters and dove in deep becoming a nationally ranked competitive shucker and working for Oyster Recovery Partnership as a shell recovery technician. He is passionate about improving water quality, growing the oyster farming industry, and working the water.

@madhouseoysters is located mid-bay on Hoopers Island, which allows their oysters to develop a subtle saltiness reminiscent of a clean, crisp, sweet first kiss. WIYO guests will enjoy two of their signature brands, Madhouse and Black Horse Chesapeake oysters. Madhouse Oysters donates a portion of their revenue to help build wells in Africa and have funded five to date.

WIYO guests will savor Plump Salty n’ Sweet Oysters by @choptank_terrapin_oyster_co grown at the mouth of the Choptank River off the point of Tilghman Island, Maryland. The company strives to produce premium oysters and build meaningful customer relationships while being stewards of the Chesapeake by promoting, protecting, and serving a keystone species of the Bay in a sustainable fashion.

“FAT AS BUTTER” is how @tt_oyster Double T Oyster Ranch describes their hybrid, farm raised oysters which still express a wild oyster character with the “Double T Cupped” shells. The oysters are grown where the Potomac River and Herring Creek collide, creating a strong tidal flow that helps them to grow larger, faster, and cleaner. Double T Oyster Ranch is family-owned and was founded in 2009 by Rick Meatyard and his son Spike.
