THANK YOU to all the restaurants and oyster-lovers who helped make Give Back to the Bay on National Oyster Weekend a huge success. Preliminary totals show funds raised will allow ORP to plant 1.4 million spat on shell (baby oysters) onto protected oyster reefs throughout the Bay — making this our best giveback yet!

____________________________________________________________________

This year, National Oyster Day, August 5, falls on a Monday… but we can’t limit our love of oysters to a lone Monday, so let’s celebrate our beloved bivalve ALL WEEKEND LONG, August 2-5!

Eat oysters at any of these 90 participating Shell Recycling Alliance member restaurants throughout DC, MD, PA, and VA as part of Give Back to the Bay National Oyster [Weekend], Friday, August 2 – Monday, August 5, 2019, and ORP will receive 10 cents for every oyster consumed! This is truly the easiest way to eat your way to a healthier Bay as funds raised will help plant oysters onto sanctuary reefs in the Chesapeake!
