SRA Membership Rules and Policies

SRA Membership Rules and Policies

In an effort to standardize the Shell Recycling Program’s operations, the Oyster Recovery Partnership established a set of rules for the Shell Recycling Alliance membership program, which are summarized below. As a partner, we ask that you follow these basic rules so we can ensure that we can provide the highest level of customer service to all participants.

Basic Membership

Membership Enrollment
Declare of Intent to support SRA (a form will be provided)
Are willing to promote SRA mission
Are willing to report supplied shell contributions
Shells Angel Enrollment
“Shells Angel” status will qualify a member as a preferred provider. Any member will be considered to have a “Shells Angel” status when meeting at least one of the following criteria:
Donated more than 250 bushels of shell in a 12-month period
Donate at least $250 in a 12-month period
Serve as a drop-off facility for shell donation

Active Accounts

Basic Members and Shells Angels will be considered active if they have done at least one of the following within the last 12 months:
Recycled shell
Made a monetary donation to ORP or SRA
Provided drop off space for shell recycling
ORP may reduce or eleminate collections from businesses that do not remain in active status. ORP will review accounts every three months and will alert members to their status.

Membership Termination

A member may terminate the participation in the shell recycling program at any time. Similarly, ORP reserves the right to terminate a member’s participation in the unlikely event that the member is fraudulently representing their support of the program and/or if the member fails to provide any supporting activities over the evaluation period.
