“FAT AS BUTTER” is how @tt_oyster Double T Oyster Ranch describes their hybrid, farm raised oysters which still express a wild oyster character with the “Double T Cupped” shells. The oysters are grown where the Potomac River and Herring Creek collide, creating a strong tidal flow that helps them to grow larger, faster, and cleaner. Double T Oyster Ranch is family-owned and was founded in 2009 by Rick Meatyard and his son Spike.

Marylanders Grow Oysters (MGO) season 15 is officially underway! For the last several weeks, our team has been delivering spat-on-shell and growing cages to volunteers throughout Maryland. This year, the program has 35 participating tributaries and 1500+ volunteers. We anticipate over 3 million new oysters planted next summer due to their efforts!
