🌊🎉 Get Ready to Savor the Flavor of Maryland with WIYO's "Oyster Spotlight"🦪 At the World Is Your Oyster Festival, we're all about celebrating the beauty and flavor of our oceans, and what better way to do it than by showcasing the incredible oyster purveyors of Maryland! 🌊🌟

🔍 Explore 14 different oyster purveyors from the Maryland area, each with their unique twist on this culinary delight. From the Chesapeake Bay to the Atlantic shore, these experts bring the taste of Maryland's coast straight to your plate!

Hollywood_Oyster Co. is located on a 300-acre farm in St. Mary’s County, in the heart of Maryland oyster country, near where the US National Oyster Shucking Championship Contest takes place. WIYO guests will enjoy their top varieties, including Hollywood and the Sweet Jesus (sweet with complex, mineral/mossy flavors), and Va Va Voom (slightly briny with buttery flavors with a clean finish). Hollywood Oyster Co. supports restoration efforts in the Chesapeake Bay by creating oyster habitat in and surrounding growing cages.

Fall is here, but there's no rest for our dedicated science team! Last Friday, we kicked off our post-restoration monitoring in the St. Mary's River. Restored reefs are monitored to determine oyster density, growth, and assess overall reef health. Monitoring results are used to adaptively manage the reefs and inform future restoration needs. There are some beautiful-looking oysters out there!
